Parenting is a spiritual practice. It’s such a big ask of our minds, bodies, and souls. As a therapist who believes in purposeful transformative change, I see how becoming a parent can open us to some of the biggest changes we’ve ever experienced. Within those changes, there is room for a ton of growth. Here, you’ll find warmth, non-judgment, and a place to develop trust that the universe has your back.
I’m Emily. I’m a mom and psychotherapist with a heart for helping clients through the tough parts of life. These pre-parenting and parenting journeys can be challenging, and walking with clients through those times is something I love to do.
Using a variety of techniques (mostly drawing from ACT, IFS, CBT, narrative therapy, and mindfulness), I help clients find their way through:
- Birth Story Processing
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Panic
- Perinatal loss
- Feeling like they’ve lost who they were
- Feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and full of anger
I’m a licensed clinical social worker (MSW from University of Maryland School of Social Work) with a Masters degree in Sociology (University of Maryland, Baltimore County). I’m certified in perinatal mental health. Along with completing the below, I am an intuitive Reiki master practitioner. Bringing energy healing into the therapy space can be powerful and supportive.
- Certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C)
- Certificate training in Maternal Mental Health
- Birth Trauma course
- Decolonizing Therapy for Black Folk course
- Certificate training in Mindfulness
- Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course
- Training specific to developing intuition and spiritual healing
- Training on treating the impact of adverse experiences
We proudly donate organizations such as Stillborn and Infant Loss Support and The Loveland Foundation, an organization which supports Black women and and girls seeking therapy across the United States.
